Congratulations to all those who participated in 2015 CMGA sanctioned shows! There were a total of 367 goats shown in Quebec, Alberta, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

The Goat Herd Improvement Program (GHIP) is a herd performance data program being offered by the Canadian Meat Goat Association in cooperation with Kentucky State University (KySU).

CMGA brochures available
The Canadian Meat Goat Association has developed two new brochures.
Buyers and Sellers: WRITE IT DOWN!
The Canadian Meat Goat Association is incorporated under the Animal Pedigree Act, which is Federal Law. According to the Act, the seller of a registered animal must provide registration papers transferred into the new owner’s name within six months of the date of sale. This is the law and will be enforced by the RCMP.

Published quarterly, the Canadian Meat Goat Journal is an excellent resource for producers, providing educational and informative articles, management tips, advertising space with national exposure, show results and industry news.
The CMGA undertakes program initiatives that are geared to be helpful to producers in improving and marketing their animals and thereby growing the meat goat industry in Canada.
