Joining the CMGA

As a paid member of the Canadian Meat Goat Association, you will have access to participate in all areas of the site, including:

  • Adding your Farm Listing
  • Posting free Classified Ads
  • Adding Industry Resource Links
  • Posting Events on the Calendar

Types of CMGA Memberships:

Active Members ($55+GST):
- have the right to vote, hold office and give notice to amend the CMGA bylaws
- can register and transfer animals at members’ rates
- can advertise in the Canadian Meat Goat Journal at members’ rates
- receive the Canadian Meat Goat Journal and the annual Membership Directory

Associate Members ($35+GST):
- receive the Canadian Meat Goat Journal and the annual Membership Directory
- can advertise in the Canadian Meat Goat Journal at members’ rates

Junior Members ($20+GST):
- individuals who have not yet attained the age of 18 years (as of January 1 of the year of membership)
- can register and transfer animals at members’ rates
- can advertise in the Canadian Meat Goat Journal at members’ rates
- receive the Canadian Meat Goat Journal and the annual Membership Directory
- are eligible to attend the AGM and associated conferences at no cost

In order to register your animals, a one-time application for Herd Name and Tattoo letters must be filled out and approved. Our new registration form from CLRC is available here.

CLRC handles all issues regarding animal registrations (ie, transfers, yearly membership fees, replacements/corrections of certificates, tattoo letter registrations, herd name registrations, lease registrations, etc.)
